Materials You Will Need

14-count plastic canvas
Yarn in your desired colors
Yarn needle
Scissors
Glue
Ribbon or twine
Small gift items to fill your baskets (optional)

Instructions

Cut the plastic canvas. You will need two pieces of 14-count plastic canvas, each measuring 10" x 6".
Glue the two pieces of plastic canvas together. Place the two pieces of plastic canvas with the grids aligned, and glue them together around the edges.
Start stitching the basket. Using a yarn needle and yarn in your desired color, start stitching around the edge of the basket, working in a simple running stitch. Continue stitching until you reach the top of the basket.
Create the handle. To create the handle for the basket, cut a piece of yarn that is approximately 12" long. Fold the yarn in half and thread it through the holes at the top of the basket, as shown in the photo below.
Tie the handle. Tie the ends of the yarn together to create the handle for the basket. Trim any excess yarn.
Fill the basket with gifts. Fill the basket with small gift items, such as candy, chocolates, or gift cards. You can also add some festive decorations, such as tinsel or holly.
Tie a ribbon around the basket. Tie a ribbon or twine around the top of the basket to finish it off.

Tips

You can use any color yarn you like to create your baskets.
If you want to make your baskets sturdier, you can glue a piece of cardboard or foam core to the bottom of each basket before you start stitching.
You can add any type of embellishments you like to your baskets, such as beads, sequins, or glitter.
