- 1 ball of 8ply lace weight yarn (approximately 100g)
- 4mm (US 6) circular knitting needles
- Stitch marker
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Abbreviations
- CO: cast on
- K: knit
- P: purl
- Sl: slip
- YO: yarn over
- K2tog: knit 2 stitches together
- P2tog: purl 2 stitches together
- SSK: slip 1 stitch knitwise, slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 2 stitches together through the back loops
- SSP: slip 1 stitch purlwise, slip 1 stitch purlwise, purl 2 stitches together through the back loops
Pattern
CO 96 stitches onto your circular needles.
Row 1: *K1, YO, K1, YO, repeat from * to the end of the row.
Row 2: *P1, K1, P1, K1, repeat from * to the end of the row.
Row 3: *K1, YO, K2tog, YO, repeat from * to the end of the row.
Row 4: *P1, SSK, P1, SSP, repeat from * to the end of the row.
Repeat rows 1-4 until the piece measures approximately 5 inches from the cast on edge.
Decrease Row: *K2tog, K1, YO, K2tog, repeat from * to the end of the row.
Row 2: *P1, SSK, P1, SSP, repeat from * to the end of the row.
Repeat the decrease row and row 2 until there are 12 stitches remaining on the needle.
Cut the yarn and thread it through the remaining stitches. Pull tight to close the beanie.
Weave in any loose ends and enjoy your beautiful lace beanie!
